Terms of service

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and AYO SOLUTION APS, CVR DK42981494, Havnegade 53A, 3. sal, 1058 København K, Denmark, Denmark ("we", "us"). They apply when you use FreeFlashcards.net, with or without an account. When you create an account or use the service, you accept these terms.

Our Privacy policy tells you how we handle personal data.

2. The service

• FreeFlashcards.net lets you make flashcards, study them with spaced repetition, and share decks with other people.
• The service is free. There is no paid plan and there are no feature limits. Ads pay for it (see section 7).
• We can change, add or remove features. We work to keep the service available, but we do not promise that it is always available or free of errors.

3. Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• You sign in with a link that we email to you, or with a password if you set one. Anyone who can open your email can sign in to your account, so keep your email account and your password safe.
• You are responsible for what happens in your account.

4. Your content

• You keep all rights to the decks and cards that you make.
• You give us permission to store, copy and show your content only as necessary to run the service — for example, to show your cards to you and to the people you share a deck with. This permission ends when you delete your account. Cards that you added to another person's deck stay in that deck.
• We never sell your content, and we never use it to train AI models.
• You are responsible for your content. Upload only content that you have the right to use. For example, do not copy large parts of a textbook without permission.
• We supply starter decks as they are. When you add one, your copy is yours to change.

5. Sharing decks

• A share link works like a key: anyone who has the link can join the deck. Share it only with people you trust. If a link gets out, delete it on the deck page.
• Editors can change and delete the cards in a deck. Viewers can study it. The owner can see the study progress of viewers, but not of editors. We tell people this before they join.
• The owner can remove members at any time, and members can leave at any time.
• If you delete your account, the decks you own are deleted for all their members too.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use the service to:

• upload or share content that is illegal, or that harasses, threatens or exploits other people;
• break copyright or other rights of other people;
• send spam, malware or phishing;
• try to get access to accounts or data that are not yours, or test our security without our permission (if you find a security problem, please email us);
• overload the service, or collect its content with automated tools.

If you break these rules, we can remove content, or suspend or delete your account. When it is reasonable, we warn you first.

7. Ads

• The service shows ads from Google AdSense. This is how it stays free.
• We do not choose the individual ads, and we do not endorse the products in them.
• Ads never appear on study screens.
• If we detect an ad blocker, we can show a notice that asks you to turn it off for FreeFlashcards.net.

8. Deleting your account

• You can delete your account at any time: sign in and use Delete account on your dashboard.
• Deletion is immediate and permanent. We delete your account, your decks and cards, and your study history. We cannot restore them, and we do not restore single accounts from backups.
• We can close an account that breaks these terms (see section 6).
• If we decide to close the service, we tell you by email at least 30 days before.

9. No warranty

The service is free and supplied "as is". We work to keep your data safe and the service running, but we do not guarantee that it is always available or free of errors, or that data can never be lost. Do not use FreeFlashcards.net as the only place where you keep material that is important to you.

10. Liability

As far as Danish law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss, loss of data or loss of profit. These terms do not limit any liability that Danish law does not allow us to limit, for example for gross negligence or intent.

11. Changes to these terms

We can change these terms. When we do, we update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we tell signed-in users at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you do not agree, you can delete your account before then.

12. Law and disputes

Danish law applies to these terms, and disputes go to the Danish courts. If you are a consumer in another EU country, you keep the protection that the mandatory law of your country gives you, and you can also bring a case in your local courts.
